88th Academy Awards – Ex Machina

Milk’s Co-Founder Sara Bennett won an Academy Award for Alex Garland’s Ex-Machina, alongside the VFX team for DNEG – Andrew Whitehurst, Paul Norris and Mark Ardington.

The four received the Oscar for Best Visual Effects at the 88th Academy Awards ceremony held on the 29th of February 2016 in the Dolby Theatre Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Sara is the second female ever to win an Oscar in the Best VFX category.

Creative Arts Emmy Awards – Sherlock Special Episode: The Abominable Bride

Milk’s talented Sherlock team received the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Special and Visual Effects in a Supporting Role, alongside special effects company Real SFX at the 68th Television Academy Awards ceremony, held at the Microsoft Theatre on Saturday 10th September 2016.

BAFTA Television Craft Awards – Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell Episode 5

At the 17th British Academy Television Craft Awards, held on the 24th April 2016 at The Brewery, City of London; Milk’s talented Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell team won a BAFTA for Special, Visual & Graphic Effects for their work on Episode 5.

This win marks the third consecutive BAFTA for Special, Visual & Graphic Effects Milk has received.

BAFTA Television Craft Awards – Doctor Who Series 8 Episode 1: Deep Breath

Held at The Brewery, City of London on 26th April 2015, the 16th British Academy Television Craft Awards, saw Milk VFX win the BAFTA for Best Special, Visual and Graphic Effects for their work on Doctor Who Series 8 Episode 1: Deep Breath.

BAFTA Television Craft Awards – Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Episode: The Day of The Doctor

The 15th British Academy Television Craft Awards saw Milk VFX win its first award, with the Doctor Who team winning a BAFTA for Best Special, Visual and Graphic Effects for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Episode: The Day of The Doctor. The ceremony was held on the 24th April 2014 at The Brewery, City of London.

BAFTA Television Craft Awards – Intergalactic

2022 saw Milk and executive supervisor Jean-Claude Deguara nominated for a Special, Visual and Graphic Effects Television Craft Award for our work on Intergalactic. This nomination is in conjunction with Egg VFX, Gareth Spensley and Real SFX

BAFTA Television Craft Awards – Cursed

In 2021 Milk was nominated for a Television Craft Award in Special, Visual and Graphic Effects for our work on the hit TV series, Cursed; alongside DNEG TV, Freefolk, Goodbye Kansas Studios, Greg Fisher and Dave Houghton.

Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards – Intergalactic

The 2021 Broadcast Tech Awards saw Milk nominated for Best VFX Project due to their work on the science fiction series, Intergalactic.

BAFTA Television Craft Awards – Good Omens

At the 2020 BAFTA Television Craft Awards, Milk was nominated for a Special, Visual and Graphic Effects Award for our work on Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens, in conjunction with Gareth Spensley and Real SFX.

Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards – Cursed

In 2020 Milk was nominated for Best VFX Project at the Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards for their work on the Netflix fantasy series, Cursed.

Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards – Good Omens

At the 2019 Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards, Milk was nominated for Best VFX Project for the first season of Amazon’s Good Omens.

BAFTA Television Craft Awards – Sherlock Special Episode: The Abominable Bride

Alongside winning an Emmy for Sherlock Special Episode: The Abominable Bride, Milk was nominated for a Television Craft Special, Visual and Graphic Effects Award in 2017, in conjunction with Real SFX and Kevin Horsewood.

BAFTA Television Craft Awards – The Last Dragonslayer

Milk was nominated a second time in 2017 for a Special, Visual and Graphic Effects Television Craft Award for our work on the Last Dragonslayer, in conjunction with Chris Reynolds and Adam McInnes.

In 2016 Milk won the Television Craft Award for Special, Visual & Graphic Effects for Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, but were also nominated for their work on Doctor Who Series 9, alongside Millennium FX, Real SFX and Molinare.

Royal Television Society Craft & Design Awards – Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands

In 2016 Milk was nominated for a Royal Television Society Craft and Design Effects – Digital Award for our work on Beowulf: return to the Shieldlands.

Visual Effects Society Awards – Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell: Arabella

At the 14th annual Visual Effects Society Awards in 2016 Milk co-founders Sara Bennett and Jean-Claude Deguara were nominated for the Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Episode Award for their work on Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell Episode 5 Arabella; alongside Natalie Reid and Nicolas Hernandez.
